Appreciation for Assisted Schools, JAPFA Holds Virtual JAPFA for Kids Awards 2020-2021

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) today held the JAPFA for Kids Awards 2020-2021 Competition which was held virtually. This time, The JAPFA for Kids Awards program is a follow-up to the mentoring program in 2019 which included 9,064 students from 53 schools in 6 Provinces. Refusing to give up with the pandemic conditions, JAPFA remains committed to encouraging Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and consumption of nutritious food for Indonesian children and continues to carry on programs by reformulating the JAPFA for Kids Awards Competition.

"Adapting to the pandemic, JAPFA is reformulating the JAPFA for Kids Awards approach to ensure the sustainability of the program. All competitions, both for teachers and students, we turn them into competitions with online judging,“ said R. Artsanti Alif, Head of Social Investment JAPFA.

The competition mechanism, which was previously held in each program area, this time the judging was carried out online by asking the competition participants to make video competitions in each competition category, especially for the competition for Healthy Children Ambassadors, Healthy Food Ambassadors, and Healthy Environment Ambassadors.

"Students who take part in the Healthy Food Ambassador competition are asked to make a video of the cooking process and present their cooking results, and in the Healthy Children Ambassador competition, students are asked to make a PHBS campaign video and take an online exam," said Artsanti. "The results of the competition are collected and then assessed by the Jury from the Ministry of Health. As for the Healthy Environment Ambassador competition, Composing Competition and Drawing Competition judging by the jury from the Surabaya Arts Council," he added.

In addition to competitions for students, JAPFA for Kids Awards also created a Chess Competition and 5S implementation for teachers and schools. At the JAPFA for Kids Awards this time the competition was attended by 53 elementary schools from 6 provinces in Indonesia. Furthermore, Artsanti explained that the JAPFA for Kids program has been implemented since 2008. For more than 12 years JAPFA has encouraged behavior change and established a system that supports PHBS and the consumption of balanced nutrition in schools.

"Through the JAPFA for Kids Awards, we are trying to evaluate the achievements of the mentoring program that has been implemented previously for 9 months. Especially during this pandemic, this activity is a form of JAPFA's consistency in implementing the program in a sustainable manner without giving up on pandemic conditions," he concluded.
