JAPFA for Kids held its East Java regional Little Chef Competition in Tuban on July 4th
JAPFA for Kids held its East Java regional Little Chef Competition in Merakurak, Tuban on July 4th, 2018. The event was organized jointly with the Fisheries & Farm Services department of the Tuban district government which launched its own campaigns of GEMARAMPAI and GEMARIKAN, designed to encourage children to include more eggs, milk and fish in their daily diet. Proteins are essential of healthy physical development for children. Regional government officials invited for the event helped to reinforce the benefits of healthy childhood nutrition as promoted by JAPFA for Kids around the country.
The competition was led by Healthy Food Ambassadors from the district’s 10 primary schools - SDN Kebonsari 1, SDN Kutorejo 1, SDN Ronggomulyo 1, SDN Latsari, SDN Kebonsari 2, SDN Mondokan, SDN Sugiharjo 1, SDN Sukolilo 2, SDN Bina Anak Sholeh, and SD Islam. The participating Healthy Food Ambassadors from each school were required to prepare a healthy menu using fish, meat and organic vegetables. Starting in the month of August, JAPFA for Kids organizers will also hand out 1600 nutritional packs per month for 5 months for those Tuban primary schools that have enrolled in the JAPFA for Kids programs. Each nutritional pack consists of Sozzis (ready-to-eat sausages) and Real Good Milk.
