Support Government fight against COVID-19, JAPFA Consistently Distribute Extra Fooding for Medical Team
PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) through the JAPFA Peduli program consistently provides animal protein-based food assistance for COVID-19 countermeasures. Where in its distribution, JAPFA collaborated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan). In this month of Ramadhan, JAPFA once again distributed aid in the form of break-fasting food packages for the medical team.
During the fasting month, JAPFA collaborated with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to provide breaking fast food for the COVID-19 medical team. 100,000 food packages were distributed in stages in Greater Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java and Lampung. The fasting food package is also the result of collaboration with PT Suri Tani Pemuka (STP), a subsidiary of JAPFA which helps smallholder fish farmers by absorbing 15 tons of catfish, goldfish, tilapia and Patin to be processed as food for the medical team.
"Seeing the current state of Indonesia with the continued increase in patients infected with COVID-19, JAPFA continuously providing animal protein-based food aid. Providing donations to the medical team as the vanguard that requires adequate nutrition is a form of our commitment to support the government fighting the pandemic, "said Rachmat Indrajaya, Director of Corporate Affairs JAPFA.
Since last March until now, JAPFA has continued to provide animal protein-assisted food supplies through BNPB to be distributed to Referral Hospitals and Puskesmas in Jakarta. JAPFA assessed that the provision of extra fooding for medical staff is very necessary to ensure adequate nutrition for the medical team. Previously, chicken, eggs, shrimp, sausages and milk had been handed over to the Phase I & 2 aid, and to this day, JAPFA has provided Greenfields fresh milk assistance of 42,000 litters.
Not only in Jakarta, the assistances was also provided through JAPFA's business units spread throughout Indonesia. Through business unit, JAPFA provides various types of assistance, ranging from the provision and spraying of disinfectant liquids, safety equpment, masks and hand sanitizers, animal protein food ingredients, breaking fast food packages, basic food packages, operational car assistance for patrols, to participate in activities socialization to the community.
"Under these conditions, it is the exact time we move together to give our best efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The synergy of all stakeholders has one goal, namely to reduce the spread curve and Indonesia can recover from this pandemic immediately,” concluded Rachmat.
