Since the government confirmed the first COVID-19 case in Indonesia, various steps and efforts have been made by various parties to overcome the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As one of the animal protein providers in Indonesia, PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) supports the Kampung Tangguh Jaya program, a program initiated by Polda Metro Jaya, Pangdam Jaya and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to suppress the spread of the virus.

In cooperation with the Central Jakarta Police, JAPFA distributed animal protein sources in the form of 9,600 chickens and 4,800 kg of eggs. This assistance will be given in stages over 6 months, starting from the 3rd week of February to July 2021 to 8 points of Kampung Tangguh in Central Jakarta.

Rachmat Indrajaya, Director of Corporate Affairs JAPFA, explained "The provision of food ingredients in the form of animal protein sources aims to help people meet their daily nutritional intake needs. Because as we all know, proteins are needed to help increase our immunity, especially in the middle of pandemic conditions."

The first phase of assistance was given on February 16, which was symbolically handed over by R. Artsanti Alif, Head of Social Investment JAPFA to the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Burhanuddin S.I.K, S.H, M.H. and 8 representatives from Kampung Tangguh Jaya, Central Jakarta, namely from the Districts of Gambir, Sawah Besar, Kemayoran, Menteng, Tanah Abang, Senen, Tanah Abang and Johar Baru. Not only handing over the products, JAPFA also facilitates the freezer as a place for storing chicken meat to keep it fresh and maintain its quality.

"This pandemic has an impact on all sectors, such as health, economy, education and other sectors. Therefore, we should work hand in hand so that we can get out of the current condition," said Rachmat.

In overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, JAPFA's collaboration with the government, both at the regional and national levels, has been established since last year. JAPFA is actively working to encourage the reduction of the number of COVID-19, one of which is through collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB). JAPFA also invites all parties to jointly take part in fighting COVID-19 in Indonesia.
