PT Suri Tani Pemuka Take Part to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 in Simalungun
Medan, March 30, 2020 - PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) through its subsidiary PT Suri Tani Pemuka (STP) engaged in aquaculture has supported the Indonesian government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by delivering aid of disinfectant spraying in Simalungun, North Sumatra.
Spraying of disinfectants has been carried out in stages since last week in 6 hamlets and 3 places of worship in Janggir Leto area, also 9 worship places and 6 schools in the Muara Mulia area, Tana Jawa, North Sumatra. This effort was made to help communities in Janggir Leto village area not to be infected with COVID-19. Not only that, STP employees also actively provide prevention socialization and invite the surrounding community to jointly take a role in suppressing the spread of COVID-19.
In the company area, STP strictly carries out employee health checks every day, implements safety & hygiene procedures in the work environment, provides health assistance to sick employees, and provides COVID-19 emergency hotline services to the setting of social distancing procedures for STP employees. Through a series of prevention efforts, employees can be monitored well so that they can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local area.
Head of Aquaculture Division JAPFA Group, Ardi Budiono said, "Through the assistance we provide to the community, as well as our internal efforts in the company's operational work environment, we hope this effort can help the Indonesian government in manage the COVID-19 disaster. "
In addition to Simalungun, STP units in other regions such as Lampung and Cirebon also made efforts to break the distribution chain of COVID-19. In Lampung, STP cooperated with the South Lampung Regency Government and other government agencies by distributing hand sanitizer assistance to be distributed to communities around South Lampung. In Cirebon, STP is helping communities around the factory by spraying disinfectants in residents' homes and providing hand sanitizers and PPE to the Village Officials of Mundu Pesisir and Mundu Districts. This is in line with JAPFA's efforts to take rapid response to support the government in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
