Jakarta, March 26th, 2020 - PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) through JAPFA Peduli program takes responsive action to support the government deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, JAPFA handed an animal protein foodstuff over Rp 700 million to the medical team through National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB).

As an agribusiness company that provides quality and affordable animal protein products, JAPFA through its subsidiary donated eggs and chicken meat (PT Ciomas Adisatwa and tempura shrimp (PT Suri Tani Pemuka). In addition, other companies under parent company also helped provide liquid milk (Greenfields), processed chicken products (So Good), and liquid egg (PT Intan Kenkomayo Indonesia).

Rachmat Indrajaya, Director of Corporate Affairs JAPFA said, "As a national company that has a mission to provide animal protein for Indonesia, JAPFA wants to participate in assisting the government handling the COVID-19 pandemic by providing quality animal protein food for medical personnel who fought in the frontline."

Protein is an important component of every cell in the body. Adequate protein intake may form antibodies to help prevent disease and infection in the body. The medical team which handles persons under monitoring (ODP) and patients under surveillance(PDP) require a highly nutritious food intake to keep their immune system.

"This initiative is JAPFA's real contribution to the nation amid the current difficult situation. We will continue monitor the progress of this pandemic and take action to help the government. Hopefully Indonesia may soon pass through this situation and we hope there will be more parties will reach out and synergize in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic," Rachmat said.
