JAPFA Conducts Rapid Action to Disaster Response for Flash Flood Bima

Bima, 12 April 2021 - Through the disaster response program, JAPFA Peduli, PT JAPFA Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) together with its subsidiary PT Santosa Utama Lestari (SUL), today distributed aid to residents affected by flash floods in Madapangga District, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara. The assistance in the form of basic food packages was given to 400 heads of families in 7 villages, namely Tonda Village, Dena Village, Rade Village, Woro Village, Ncandi Village, Campa Village and Bolo Village.

Flash floods that hit six sub-districts in Bima Regency on Friday (2/4) damaged 5,333 houses, consisting of 380 heavily damaged, 2,716 moderately damaged, and 2,777 slightly damaged. The flood also damaged dozens of educational, health, worship place and other public facilities.

"After coordinating with our subsidiaries located around the disaster area, we immediately prepared assistance. We are working as quickly as possible to distribute these logistical needs,” said Rachmat Indrajaya, Director of Corporate Affairs JAPFA.

The basic food packages that were distributed to affected residents included rice, cooking oil, eggs and milk. "We hope that the existence of JAPFA Peduli can alleviate the suffering burden of the affected residents. We also invite all elements of society to work hand in hand to help victims of flash floods in Bima Regency," explained Rachmat.

The JAPFA Peduli Program is a program initiated by JAPFA as a form of JAPFA's commitment specifically to dealing with disaster problems. Formed in 2017, JAPFA Peduli continues JAPFA's disaster response program in previous years with better coordination lines so that emergency assistance can reach affected communities quickly and on target.
