Jakarta, May 10, 2025 - PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of chess in Indonesia by hosting the JAPFA FIDE Rated 2025 tournament. Held in collaboration with the Indonesian Chess Federation (PB PERCASI), the event takes place from May 10 to 15, 2025 at Wisma Serbaguna Senayan, Central Jakarta. This year’s tournament features participants from six countries: Australia, India, China, Italy, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia.

Rachmat Indrajaya, Director of Corporate Affairs at JAPFA, stated, "As a company committed to human capital development and sports, we are proud to bring back JAPFA FIDE Rated this year. Beyond promoting chess in Indonesia, we aim to provide a platform where national players can showcase their talent on an international stage."

JAPFA FIDE Rated 2025 serves as a key event for sharpening competitive skills, improving Elo ratings, and earning international titles from the World Chess Federation (FIDE). Historically, many Indonesian players have had to travel abroad to pursue title norms or increase their ratings. This tournament provides them with the opportunity to achieve such milestones on home soil.

"JAPFA FIDE Rated 2025 is a golden opportunity for young chess players to hone their skills, gain FIDE points, and test their mettle against top international players," said Utut Adianto, Chairman of PB PERCASI.

The tournament adopts a 9-round Swiss system and is divided into three categories:

  • Open (for players with an Elo rating of 2000 and above),
  • Challenger (for players rated below 2000), and
  • Blitz Chess as an additional category.

Prize Pool by Category:

  • Open (Elo ≥ 2000): IDR 100,000,000
  • Challenger (Elo < 2000): IDR 58,500,000
  • Blitz Chess: IDR 24,750,000
